OUR F.A.QS
- 01
We welcome riders from as young as 4 years old, as long as they can confidently ride standing up, but this isn't always essential. We do also offer children to join in on balance bikes if they wish, to get a feel of the BMX environment. There is no upper age limit—our sessions cater to riders of all ages and abilities.
- 02
Our beginner coaching sessions take place every Thursday evening at 5:15pm to 6:15 pm. Please arrive from 5pm to get kitted out and to meet the coaches.
- 03
You can just turn up for your first session! However, we recommend filling out our quick New Rider Form beforehand to ensure we have your details and can cater to your needs.
- 04
Riders need a full-face helmet, gloves, and a bike. If you don’t have a helmet or gloves, we offer them for hire at £3, payable at the Volair Leisure Centre reception. If your child has their own bike, feel free to bring it. If not, you can hire a bike from us—just note that they’re issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 05
The first session is free! After that, it’s £5 per session. Bike and helmet hire is an additional £3, payable to Volair Leisure Centre.
- 06
No, you don’t need to purchase a BMX bike right away. You can hire one from us for £3 per session until you’re sure your child enjoys the sport. If your child has a non-BMX bike, you can bring it as a backup in case our hire bikes are fully booked.
- 07
We can provide a full-face helmet and gloves for hire at £3 per session. These are required for safety reasons. We recommend purchasing your own equipment once your child decides to continue with the sport.
